Québec’s MICHELIN Moment

Québec’s MICHELIN Moment: What the Data Tells Us About Dining and Tourism

When the MICHELIN Guide debuted its inaugural recommendations for Québec on May 15, 2025, the restaurant world took notice—and so did diners.

Libro, a Quebec-based reservation platform used by seven MICHELIN-starred restaurants named in the 2025 Guide, examined reservation data two weeks following the announcement and compared it to the same time in 2024.

The findings are clear: the MICHELIN effect is real, and it’s powerful.

A 400%+ Surge in Reservations
On average, restaurants recognized by the Guide saw four times more reservations than the previous year. One restaurant even experienced a staggering 930% increase. In other words, MICHELIN didn’t just boost visibility—it drove demand. Since the announcement, Kebec Club Privé, Tanière³, and Narval will have fully booked dining rooms through the end of 2025.

Culinary Tourism on the Rise
Beyond local interest, Libro’s data show that phone numbers linked to reservations from outside Québec rose by more than 150%, indicating that out-of-province bookings are approximately 2.5 times higher than last year. This shows an increase in culinary tourism, with diners traveling specifically to experience MICHELIN-recognized restaurants in Québec.

Bravo to the Chefs
The 2025 Guide for Québec includes Libro client Tanière³—the first TWO MICHELIN-Starred restaurant in the province. Six restaurants earning One MICHELIN Star also rely on the Libro platform, including ARVIKebec Club PrivéLaurie RaphaëlLégendeMastard, and Narval. In total, the inaugural MICHELIN Guide for Québec features 20 restaurants powered by Libro, reflecting the platform’s appeal and usability in the fine dining category.
