Birdhouse Wingerie & Bar Fills Dining Room and Saves Thousands of Dollars Monthly with Libro
Opening an upscale chicken wing concept during a pandemic in Montreal required Birdhouse Wingerie & Bar to be meticulous with every business decision, including a table reservation system. Rather than joining a coalition program that could easily recommend competitors or drive diners to high-traffic tourist areas, the upscale gastro-pub in the West Island adopted Libro’s table management and online reservation software.
“We had to ensure our new concept was recommended when tourists or locals searched online for places to eat in Montreal,” says George Massouras, Owner of Birdhouse Wingerie & Bar. “Libro helped us add online reservations directly to our website and do it for a fraction of what Open Table charges.”
Since opening in July 2021, the 150-seat restaurant has received approximately 300 reservations a week, 90% of which are made directly through its website. Considering Libro never charges a service fee to their customers when a table is booked by a guest, Birdhouse has saved thousands of dollars each month. Additionally, the restaurant eliminated its investment designated for a pager system in favor of the online waitlist included in the Libro system. Shortly after opening, Massouras was able to scale back the number of hostesses by 30%, which was another welcomed cost savings.
